I like it. I really think it's an effective way of connecting with people. That's so cool. I sincerely wish I could be over there helping you guys out and spending time with you guys. I've been listening to Into the Sea's songs lately, just soaking them in. They're so good! My favorite is April Snow I would say. That line that says something like " When you got the Spirit, it cuts you like a sword, when you got the Spirit, it feels more than drunkenness," that line is good. Almost all my friends drink, and I don't know, but that statement encourages me alot, besides the fact it's so true! Nayeli really does a fantastic job in Magnolia as well. You guys have some really pure sounds going on. It's good.
Hey, some cool things are happening around here. I'm feeling that it won't be long before the movement reaches the area. I'm excited. "The best is yet to come," right? Much love to you and you family, my friend.

We are excited for you Andy. Bless you and your family.
I love your ministry approach. It's so relational. Everyone needs
relationships. Building from this point to the truth about the
greatest relationship in the universe is what it is all about. You had mentioned to me in the plaza in El Centro de Tepic that "God is doing something in everyone's life." Connecting with people in their own life experience right where they are now is what Jesus did. Gently leading them in a new direction walking with them speaking the truth, what an opportunity. It was no accident that you wandered into that AA meeting!
We'll be praying.

One of the things that scares me the most is that many in the Christian culture seem to ignore these things. There seems to be no interest whatsoever in vulnerability in churches and Christian culture. It's all about marketing yourself or your church. Where was vulnerability when Ted Haggerd was attacking homosexuals while he himself was in homosexual activity? I don't believe he could have ever been vulnerable and honest about his struggle without being immediately fired and made an outcast.

If anything I think the teaching of Jesus would be attractive to a lot of people in the world right now. The worldview of image, coolness, selfishness, money, sex appeal and war is just not enough. It's great to hear the countercultural message of Jesus. Let it inspire people now as it has in so many other cultures and contexts where it went against the norm.

With the emphasis of our culture and all that is thrown at us on TV etc., it is a wonder that people even pursue the life Jesus taught about at all. The fact is most people don't. I guess that is the reason Jesus starts off with saying that "blessed" are the people who understand their poverty of spirit. Jesus help us realize that and spend our lives with you instead of chasing the wind. True life is not in material things or the security our culture wants us to look to...true LIFE is walking with Jesus. That sounds so wierd to people who value other things and do not understand their true need is a spiritual one.

Good to hear from you Brian. It's true how you say that we will all suffer whether we follow Jesus or not. The beautiful thing about following Jesus is that we have the Spirit to comfort us in our times of pain. It's like choosing to suffer with the true comforter or choosing to suffer alone.

Reading the beautitudes, is always refreshing and a compelling reminder of the way the world will be. It is almost shocking, yet perfect, to see the people Jesus wants to fill His kingdom with, this world. And yes it is a reminder that to be in this kingdom we have to be vulnerable, not ashamed of our weakness and pain, but aware of it so that we will be able to see God.
buen trabajo, hermano
